Default moriz's video dump

http://www.youtube.com/user/aliasmoriz

currently, it's just a loose collection of gameplay footages of me playing alliance battles. i'm slowly moving into audio commentating, as well as put in a few tutorials about general pvp gameplay. this is because i feel the biggest barrier of entry for a player into pvp, other than the teamplay and social aspects, is sheer mechanics. a player with no experience in pvp simply does not have the mechanical execution needed to play at any decent level. i hope to solve this problem.

unfortunately, my first attempt at commentating showed just how "asian" i sound. i never realized that i had such a noticeable accent. i guess it's true that people can't notice their own accents unless they listen to themselves. i'm definitely going to try again... after i brush up on my language skills. ugh.

until then, i'll continue to post uncommentated videos at a semi regular basis. stay tuned.

I think the biggest barrier for players wanting to get into pvp are the other pvp players

If you REALLY want to try to break that barrier you should at least use vent and call strategies on there. Why ? Well besides the fact ANY VoIP is needed for higher forms of PvP the PvErs who will really want to learn what they might expect in TA/HA/GvG.

I will say one thing you are a mouse clicking machine when it comes to moving Not that there’s anything wrong with it. Thanks for the links since I have only alliance battled 4 times since the game was released I really have no idea what is going on... yet

Just happy I am not one of the video epic fail guys because I probably deserve it at this point.

I still can't understand the trend of making videos of doing pve clicking the ground furiously everywhere when it's only necessary in certain situations. Just can't.

Thumbs up, I'm subscribed to your channel!

I love what you did, kudos. Potentially one of game changing experience for me if I find the time to use it fully.

Many, many thanks. Just know that some people are grateful.

The problem with PvP is its full of PvPers!

I get it! I really do! If you are going to go play pvp, you want the best people on your team. What are the best ways to determine that? PvP ranks are typically but not always a good indicator. PvE ranks not so helpful. I can understand why people are so picky about that, especially when you are pugging someone and even more so when you are pugging a non-monk position.

I have spent hours trying to get picked up in HA with no result, and it was so frustrating. The solution is to get in with some people who do HA and get to know them. Join a PvP guild and get some training/experience/rank. Its like trying to get a job without a resume or knowing anyone. Your rank is your resume. If you dont have the resume, you need to make some friends who will bring you in.

It sucks, and it is frustrating, but nobody "owes" you a slot in their team. If you have to, work on your RA title a bit or just get into a PvP guild. I am in a PVX guild and they don't even let me into their HA or GvG unless there is a slot open because one of the R6+ guys is missing. That is your chance to prove to them what you have or learn what you need to be better, and get some rank.

If you can find someone who is willing to teach, make them your best friend. At the very least you will get picked up with them for some matches.

honestly, i don't even notice that i'm clicking on the ground madly when i play. i've played this game so much that it is all subconscious. in fact, i don't even consciously decide which direction to go, and then click there. i just determine a path and my fingers automatically direct my character there. it's kinda creepy.

and anyways, my clicking speed is actually quite tame compared to some of the players out there. have you ever seen chiizu play? he had ventrilo going on voice activation, and it recorded his mouseclicks. it's basically constant. clickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclick clickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclick through the entire match.

So this is pvp, it is player vs player right? Thank you for posting these video's, if I get into the game and decide to try and battle other players, nice to see how other people do it rather than joining in and not having a clue and having people yell at you.

These are Alliance Battles, one of the lower forms of PvP. The map has many shrines with NPC's guarding them. The main objective is to run around and capture these shrines, so it becomes more like PvE rather than PvP.

I just watched your first vid Epicfailing in AB and I really didn't get it. Is it supposed to be funny, are you trying to teach others what not to do? Because putting a little bubble next to everything and saying LOL EPIC FAILZ doesn't really help much.

with your logic, gvg must be pve also, since the ultimate objective is to kill the opposing guild lord, who happens to be an npc.

no. just like gvg, AB is a pvp arena simply because you'll need to deal with the other teams. it is also like gvg in that the winning condition is something other than just kill the other guys.

it's supposed to be a joke. why those players (including myself, btw) epicfailed should be pretty obvious.

My point was that in AB you spent more time fighting NPC's than you do other players (at least in my experiences). This make it more like PvE that PvP.
The Keyword being "Like" (In both posts). It is still PvP, but it is more like PvE.

It's like going into RA and pointing out all the bad moves and skills people use. Why bother? I'm going to assume not all your videos are like this though, so it's all good.

It's one video out of the 7 or 8 he's posted.

lol what a crock of bull that is. I set my 10 year old nephew down to this game who had never played before and he stomped the other players in a pvp match. Alliance battle at that. You don't have to be skilled at anything in this game except how to press a damn button when it comes to AB, FA, JQ or RA. Anybody who has never played ever can play a sin and never have played GW before. Just press 1 2 3..1 2 3....1 2 3....rez sig. lol

The only skilled area left in this game is GvG and I'm beginning to wonder about that anymore.
